At the University of Lomé, the digital transformation of research has reached a decisive stage. On Friday, December 12, 2025, the institution presented its brand-new digital platform for submitting and managing research activity reports. Developed by the company Exiola, this tool was the focus of a training workshop bringing together heads of research units, doctoral schools, and faculty members. The training was led by Giovani Dekpanhu, a Computer Engineer [1].

A platform to centralize research work
Designed to modernize research data management, the platform centralizes all academic output: articles, presentations, theses, dissertations, books, and other research works. The project is part of the overall modernization strategy led by the Research and Innovation Department (DRI).
Initially, the tool will be used internally to create a comprehensive database of research activities. The DRI then aims to transform it into a fully-fledged academic search engine open to students, researchers, teachers, journalists, and the general public.
Exiola, a strategic partner in the digital transition
Commissioned by the University of Lomé, Exiola, a company specializing in digital solutions and information systems, provided training for the participants. Its director, Hervé Veyato, emphasized the company's commitment:
“Exiola supports public and private organizations in their digital transformation through robust solutions adapted to the African context. We are proud to contribute to this dynamic of innovation in service of higher education and research” [2]
The implementation of this platform reflects a comprehensive vision: to make the University of Lomé a modern, connected, and high-performing institution, capable of ensuring structured and rigorous management of its academic research activities.
